First, click the Register link, go to the new window this opens, and fill in all the required fields, then click the Send Registration button. Please read the Terms & Conditions before accepting.
(Note: Name is what people will see as your name on the site and can be changed by you at any time. Username is what you'll use to log in, cannot be changed once set, and is not generally seen.)

Next, check the email account you used in the previous step...the verification message should arrive shortly. In the message, click the verification link (or copy & paste it into your browser) to confirm your registration.
If you don't see your verification email in your Inbox, please check your Junk folder. If it isn't in your Junk folder or Inbox after an hour, please email help@free-association.net, and someone will assist you ASAP.

Once you've verified your registration by clicking or pasting the verification link, you should be able to log in using the Username and Password you created for yourself.
